Salmon are about trust and following one’s instinct to find “home,” though that home may be a physical one or a spiritual one.

While you work on this coloring sheet, reflect on the salmon’s journey and how it parallels your own: a salmon is born and spends its youth in a freshwater stream before traveling to where that stream meets the sea. The salmon spends its adulthood in the salty ocean, and then, when it’s time to spawn, the salmon returns to its home river. It will spend the rest of its short life fighting all manner of obstacles and predators as it swims upstream many miles until it reaches its birthplace. There, the salmon who manage to survive will spawn together, and then perish.

The salmon’s gift continues: their bodies are full of fat and protein, and are often washed ashore or brought ashore by predators. As they disintegrate, they actually even nourish the soil and the trees around the banks of the river.

Where do you struggle to trust in life? In the world? In yourself? In the Unseen? Make an offering to the salmon and ask for his help - he will show you how to focus on your mission and follow the riffle home.
